"The Ecstatic Epiphany: A Celebration Of Youth And Beauty Past, Present And Future" is the b-side on Mark Eitzel's 1991 debut solo single, Take Courage. On the back of the single's sleeve, Eitzel writes, "I was a hoodlum from Manila and I could operate in any kind of extreme heat and humidity. I could keep my cool and sell you the kind of trash that a sucker would believe they always deserved. I was a crook from the Pacific Rim and I could do my bit for Jesus by making you find beauty in the kind of trash I made you believe you deserved. etc."

Lyrics

Everyone wants to touch you
Your skin is so soft and pure
So tell me why, is that why
you're trembling and unsure?

And your father's tired
And your mother's tired
and your skin is so soft and pure

I like the way you're moving now
Yes, yes that's the way
When you get something you can be sure
that someone will always take it away

And your father's tired
And your mother's tired
and you got something that someone's taking away

If you're good then you can win the secret prize
to always have, to always have their love held before your eyes

And your father's tired
And your mother's tired
and you always have their love held before your eyes
